Montgomeryshire has a fantastic range of mammals, from the tiny Pygmy Shrew to the great Red Deer, from aerial masters such as pipistrelle bats to expert swimmers like otters. With approximately 40 species of mammals in Montgomeryshire, there is plenty to see, without being overwhelming.

Polaxed Polecats
This is the time of year when we see the most Polecats dead on the road, as youngsters disperse away from their mother's territory. Keep your eyes peeled and don't forget to let me know if you see one.
