Montgomeryshire has a fantastic range of mammals, from the tiny Pygmy Shrew to the great Red Deer, from aerial masters such as pipistrelle bats to expert swimmers like otters. With approximately 40 species of mammals in Montgomeryshire, there is plenty to see, without being overwhelming.

Noctule Bat @ Pwll Penarth
At least 2 possibly more seen hunting over the reserve at 18:20 today, other bats were seen on the way back to Aberbechan, some of them were definitelyPipistrelle but there were some others which were a little bigger that I couldn't identify!
